Our Kindergarten students linked learning in literacy and science to their Fantastic Friends unit. The children made binoculars with coloured filters (linking to work on the 5 senses) and brought their soft toy bears to school (linking to our focus book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt). Then they went on their very own bear hunt, solving clues written on bears hidden in locations around our school. The hunt ended when they found Mr. Bear casually sitting on an armchair in the library reading a picture book (about bears, of course!) Mr. Bear asked the children to give him advice on what he could do or say to help him make friends.
