At MEF IS learning extends beyond the walls of the classroom. Field trips and excursions are part of the learning process, as hands-on experiences deepen students’ understanding of concepts and allow students to make meaning of content. It is common for our primary students to take excursions related to the skills or topics taught in classrooms. Secondary students, too, take part in field trips that support the curriculum taught. Trips vary widely.

In addition, a sense of community in team-building focused field trips is established. Cultural and educational field trip choices outside of Turkey, which vary year-to-year, are offered. Finally, clubs, such as the Model United Nations, participate in events outside of Izmir.
