On Friday morning our ECC children presented their Winter Concert - Tell us a Story! They all looked amazing and did a fantastic job. Thank you to Mr Dennis, the concert committee and all the ECC teachers for their support and hard work with this event.

On Friday Grade 2 students presented their end of unit share to their parents. It was great to see the work they had done around families and different cultures. Thank you, Ms Jesi and Ms Kathryn!

As part of the Grade 5 end of unit share, students presented a skit to demonstrate what they had learnt about government systems. The students also shared the Cultures that they created. Well done Ms Katie, Mr Wheeldon and all the grade 5 students for their hard work and creativity in this unit.

Grade 4 had their end of Unit share this week. Parents were invited to come and see some of the work they have been doing on the body system. In addition to this, grade 6 were also invited to watch the presentations, as they will be learning about body systems very soon.

Grade 2 has worked very hard on creating self-portraits and portraits of their grandparents in watercolour. They are currently on display for a limited time only in the primary assembly area. Parents, please feel free to come and take a look.

Pre-S&Pre-K visited Kids Nook to inquire that people communicate ideas in a variety of ways. They enjoyed a storytelling time and participated in a craft activity which was related to the story.

Japanese Art and Culture Club have been busy again, this time recreating the iconic print of The Great Wave. One of Hokusai’s Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. Thank you, Mr Darren, for introducing this artist to our Japanese Art and Culture Club students. |

We are pleased to announce that our grade 2 teacher, Ms Jesi, is now officially a Teach SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Ambassador. Well Done Ms Jesi! |

Our Pre School class decorated their door with a snowman and decorations for the New Year celebration. Following our school-wide Wellbeing theme for the year, the Pre School children will use this display to remind them of the strategies they can use to help them to show resilience and stay calm. For example counting to ten, walking, taking a deep breath or thinking positively. Well done Ms Goksem and Ms Sile for such a great idea. |

Kindness was the focus during library time this week. Students in Grades 4 were asked to do a variety of kind acts for people in school, at home and their community and complete it as an assignment. Little and big acts of kindness were completed and it brought a smile to everyone’s face. |

Also, our updated ‘Acceptances’ board for the Class of 2020 shows MEF students have received approximately 35 acceptances, and we’re still in 2019! Congratulations & Keep up the Great Work! |

On Wednesday after school, Eli Bensusan, the founder of Slam Poetry Istanbul, worked with a group of students on breathing techniques, movement, tone and volume activities, as well as on the performance of selected poems to the group. Thank you to the PTA for help funding this activity. |

Here we have 6A class curiosity at its highest level as they learn about human body systems. They are excitedly listening and giving feedback to the 4th graders who are practicing for their big performance. |

This week we will be featuring our talented students at our annual Secondary Talent Show! Acts will include singing, dancing, and instruments. You can see a scene here from a practice session. |

Secondary students that apply to participate in a sporting or extracurricular trip will have their academic, behavioral, and attendance records reviewed by the Administration before official approval is given. |
