On Monday, IB1 and IB2 students enjoyed the performance of Free Mandela at the Kenter Theatre.

13th November is World Kindness Day. Grades 6-8 are challenged to turn-up the kindness meter to 100 degrees of Kindness at MEF IS.
|

Collaboration between Grade 6 and Pre-K students involved the exploration of original fairy tales and storytime.
|
|
Collaboration between the Grade 2 and Grade 7 classes left the Grade 2s with their own poems and a better understanding of poetic language.

Grade 6 students prepare for the whole school Dance for Kindness that will take place later this month. Please keep an eye out for more information.

Primary Library has had a new makeover. Kids love the bright colours and the inviting space.

Kate Birch (Primary School Deputy Principal) and Elif Cesar (Learning Support Teacher) gave a talk at the Eğitimde Gelecek Conference organised by Boğaziçi and MEF University. The presentation was based on collaborative approaches to differentiation used by homeroom teachers and the Learning Support Team at MEF IS. |

Swimming is well underway for our Kindergarten to Grade 5 students. Thank you to our parents for supporting this important part of our curriculum. We expect all children to participate except in case of exceptional circumstances. |

Halloween Dress Up Day was a hit with our students. ECC especially loved the dress ups. |

MEF Mavericks Football Team enjoy training each week at the football pitch near Zorlu. Students skills are greatly improving under Coach Mo’s expert eye. |

Ms. Kate was the guest speaker for Grade 4 for their Unit of Inquiry. Thank you to our parents who joined their celebration of learning before the break. |

Primary Student Council members met with Ms. Sharlene to share the student voice collected from classes about cafeteria food. Their suggestions have been passed onto our food engineer. As you can tell, it was held on Halloween dress up day. |

MEF Students learned of the wealth of university options awaiting in Italy from Firenze Study Abroad, which will host the STUDY ITALY days November 30th. |

Adriana with Rochester Institute of Technology - Croatia shared information about RIT programs around the world. MEF Students are increasingly interested in ‘study abroad’ options such as this one. |

Primary School is running a Parent Talk on November 20th, 8:30-10:00. The focus is on the IB PYP approach to teaching and learning. We will also look at the personal, social and emotional development of children. Please sign up for this talk through the google form that was sent to you from Ms Mihaela. |

In Secondary HCS classes, Middle School students have been learning about Atatürk, the father of Turks and the founder of the Republic of Turkey, and his accomplishments. They’ve also discussed the importance of November 10th, the Commemoration of Atatürk, and have worked on Atatürk posters. |
