Last week we enjoyed our Grade 3 Assembly. They shared their learning about early civilization, role models and storytelling in creative and entertaining ways. Well done to Mr Jason, Ms Isla and Grade 3 students for their great presentation. |

Primary teachers and students celebrated International Home Language Day on Friday. After our Grade 3 Assembly, students gathered around stations to learn some simple phrases in a different language. |

Students and teachers also had an opportunity to visit the Home Language Art Exhibition. |

Grade 3 students have been busy this week creating their own high street with shops and labelling everything in Spanish. Well done to our MFL teachers for planning such a creative and fun activity! |

The Animal Care Club is pleased to announce that they have raised enough money to 'adopt' a fennec fox from the World Wildlife Fund. The money we raised will go towards protecting the desert environment of the fennec fox. |

The bubble gym should be in operation within a week or so. Protective padding will be added to the inside of it. |

Cyberbullying is a concern for all of us. In Grade 7 we are reflecting on Digital Citizenship this week with a focus on ways we can intervene in Cyberbullying. I have attached a Family Activity for you to do at home if you would like. |

We were fortunate to have five different Australian Universities visit with us while here in Istanbul to promote their graduate programs to Turkish universities. MEF was the only high school on their itinerary, and our students truly enjoyed learning more about their undergraduate program offerings and about life in Australia. As well, the University of Essex visited our campus again to share information about its great programs. |

125 Offers and Counting! The CCD Office is proud to announce thus far Grade 12 students at MEF IS and NS applying abroad have already received a total of 125+ offers from a range of universities from around the world. This is indeed an impressive achievement. Our heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to the Seniors! |

The IB1 students have completed a station activity in order to learn some of the context of Puritan society for their study of the drama The Crucible. |

High School students attended the Skiing Trip at Kartalkaya. Students chose to ski or snowboard during the day, and, in the evening, we played team games and activities. It was a very successful and enjoyable trip once again. |

Teachers participated in their monthly Wellness Sessions where they chose between Mindful Movement: 7 Minute Workout & Friend Massage, Mindful Awareness: Book Club & Chatting, and Mindful Hobbies: Lavender Eye Masks. |

This Wednesday our Student Council hosted a movie and pizza night. We had a night of laughs. Our Student Council would like to send a big thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy this social event. We look forward to having another movie night with all of the student body in the near future. |

Our Empowerment Team has been busy with bake sales, ordering equality t-shirts, and redefining the word ‘feminist’ during our Monday meetings. We are looking forward to celebrating this year’s Women’s Day theme of ‘I am generation equality’ with our Girl’s Empowerment Night on Thursday, March 5th. |
